Iris moved from the east of the Netherlands to Groningen in order to study Information Science. During her Bachelor’s degree, she followed a Law Minor, which ignited a greater enthusiasm for the field of Law. This eventually led to the topic of her Master’s thesis: predicting whether or not case law is cited by other case law. She will be pursuing her PhD at the EVICT project, where she will focus on conceptualizing the international right to housing and its impacts. Here she gets to combine her interests by using data science to analyze legal big data.
